This week-end, I just give the bees more sugar water with bee pollen in it and essential oil. They drank empty the one that had the most sugar int it the 2:1. They have themselve a big amount of bee bread, pollen and nectar, and brood for the winter. My next step is the weater bee kind , insulation with candy inside. My bees are doing well. Next year, we'll add another colony, with warre hive. I have learned a lot since 2 years 1/2 now, I am happy. At this moment I am working with the langstroth hive. My reasons are, the warre hive frames are not the best to work with. My husband made some full frames that fit in perfectly .

So this means they will now hibernate all winter and come out in the spring. Fascinating.

RasmaSandra bees don't really hibernate, they are busy eating clustering and keeping the queen warm and fed. SO they are still busy while they are slowing down.

Bless you, for keeping bees and for taking such good care of them. We need all the successful bee colonies we can manage these days.

Do the bees get sluggish in winter? I saw a couple here on the balcony looking very sluggish as the weather is cooling. Never saw bees do that.

Jeigh Elle I do not sell honey, yet. But soon enough I will. I need more colonies to be able to do that.
