I've Never Been Victimized By The Stigma Of Mental Illness

The stigma against mental illness still exists in America. I don't think it will ever go away.
However, many people say that the stigma isn't as bad as it used to be. And I believe that.
I started getting treatment for my mental health issues back in 2000. All these years later, I can honestly say that as far as I know, I've never been victimized by the stigma against mental illness by anyone.
That just shows how much things have gotten better for those dealing with serious forms of mental illness. The stigma is still there. But not like it once was, I'm happy to say.
That's good news for anyone who has already gotten help for mental illness, or for anyone who is thinking about getting the help they need for the first time.

Unfortunately, a lot of people with mental illness deny that there is anything wrong. It's wise that you have acknowledged that you have difficulties and have sought help and it is a blessing that you haven't been treated unfairly as a result.

I'm sure many don't know they need help. I'm glad you're getting help.

That is very good. In my country, people are ashamed to go to a psychiatrist when they are not well.
