I know this post will make some of you angry and if you want to block me, feel free to. Admin may even delete this and if so, then so be it. But maybe it won't get deleted since other discussions have stayed on myLot that clearly promoted and approved of abortion. I'm not here to judge anyone. That's not my job. There's a Supreme Judge who will do that one day for everyone of us. Everyone who is pro-life doesn't go around shooting people and blowing up abortion clinics. How can I defend a pre-born life, yet take another life? On the very day a baby is conceived, it has all its human chromosomes. Before the mom even knows she's pregnant, when the baby is only twenty two days old (that's only three weeks pregnant), the baby has a beating heart. By the time the baby is two months old (well within the legal time limit for an abortion), it has brain waves and its eyes, legs, hands, and fingers are beginning to develop. (Information taken from the National Right to Life website with all credit listed.) With the advanced technology of Ultrasounds and other equipment, how can anyone claim it's not a "real" baby or that its not viable? What does viable mean? According to McGraw-Hill Concise Dictionary of Modern Medicine, it's defined as " An infant who is likely to survive to the point of sustaining life independently, given the benefit of available medical therapy." Babies are surviving and thriving at increasing rates at earlier and earlier dates of gestation. My grandson was born at thirty weeks and weighed two and a half pounds. He's now a healthy, tall, intelligent teenager. And a blessing to all of us who love him. It all really comes down to the fact that a fertilized embryo is a human being at that very moment of conception. So why is it murder an hour after the baby is born, but not murder an hour before?

Babies are people from the moment they are conceived. I am looking forward to meeting one of my children. We lost a pregnancy at 16 weeks, I take great comfort in knowing that I will one day get to meet that precious person! A person is a person no matter how small!
