Today is Deepawali (Diwali) Festival, Greetings to all of you on the occasion of joy and happiness.
? Blessings of Ganesha and Lakshmi.
Enjoy with Lights Sweets DryFruits Firecrackers.
For those who don't know:-
This Festival marks the return of Lord Rama form Excel.
Everybody celebrated it in the best lighting way.
We still celebrate the same way.
Worship of two deities Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth) and Ganesha (God of Wisdom)
Worship of Lakshmi is also important because she is Wife of Vishnu, Sita and Rama were incarnation of Lakshmi and Vishnu; so her worship is top priority this day. Ganesha is always worshiped first, but in Diwali Lakshmi worship becomes equal important; so they are worshiped together.
Ram was incarnation of Vishnu, So Vishnu Puja is also very important,
Prayer song Om Jai Jagdeesh Hare is sung at final Puja.
Celebrating with Sweets, Dry Fruits, Lightning and Firecrackers is old tradition; during ancient times, Events of real weapons were used in celebration and non-polluting firecrakers were used.
We may keep our tradition and celebration.
Greetings.

You are always welcome.
About Philippine, as much I know, Folklore dance of 'Singkil' is loosely based on the legendary Ramayana Story which dedicates Deepawali (Diwali)
Diwali is celebrated in India, Nepal and Mauritius being Hindu Majority countries.
Also in some countries with Significant Hindu Population it is celebrated, like Fiji, Singapore, Srilanka, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago. (Maybe in Britain too as it was a Ruling country for India for almost 2 centuries.
Some countries like Mayanmar, also allows Diwali as Public holiday.
