Day 77 Luke 18:15 Luke 18:15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. How do you view children? Do you see them as wise, innocent, without regard? People wanted Jesus to bless their children. However, the disciples thought children were beneath Jesus’ consideration and tried to send them away. However, Jesus told the disciples to allow the children to come to him and rebuked them for keeping them away from him. Jesus then surprised them when he told them they needed to receive the kingdom of God as a child. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be able to enter heaven. As Christians, you know that receiving Jesus as your Savior and Lord as children means to fully trust and believe in him as a child trusts and believes their parents will always be there for them to take care of them. As adults, wise to the wickedness of the world, it’s hard to trust anyone or anything. You’ve seen what the world can and will do to and for you. It’s a cruel world who will take advantage of you if they can. Yet, Jesus said to be as children, trust, believe, set aside the world in favor of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. When you do, you will be able to be all Jesus purposed for you. Let’s pray: Father, help me be as a child, fully trusting you, believing you, so I can be all you purpose for me and enter heaven when this life is finished. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
