My middle child who is 6 has really bad anxiety. I was talk about it with some other moms. One mom shared this post with me that is in the picture of what helps with calming down someone that is having an anxiety attack. The triggers can be all random and different for each person. I know with my son it’s blood and pain. Those cause him extreme anxiety and it takes a while to just bring him back down. He also might be bipolar but he is to young for treatment of that till he is a teen when we can do a proper exam on his metal stability. His father suffers from both bipolar and anxiety. I found this spot of how to help me son helpful. His last attack was a few days ago and I had him sit with me till he felt better. Well more like till his tooth fell out and saw it didn’t bleed very much.

Redirecting the person's attention to something other than his/her feeling of impending doom is sometimes hard, but helpful if it is achieved. I also suffer from anxiety/panic disorder. It isn't easy.

Nope not easy. If my husband isn’t in his anxiety meds his leg will be shaking. With our son redirection doesn’t always work of course. It depends on how bad the anxiety is. He even has figet chews because he will chew on anything to relieve his anxiety and stress.

you can overcome this anxiety attack ... and if I may know, what causes a person to experience anxiety disorders?

Anxiety is caused by all kind of things. This is a child so finding what the reasons are is very hard because children have a hard time expressing what is bothering them and why. My husband also has anxiety but he is on meds for his. Lot less anxiety and he see a therapist about it as well as his bipolar which mood swings can cause anxiety.

@leny34 that’s not how anxiety disorder works. If they was the case my husband would never have one. A lot of metal health issues does with your hormones or the lack of not making enough. Anxiety isn’t something that you sit with a person and make them feel better it’s an actual condition that needs for lots of people medical treatment and a doctor.

@ShyBear88 maybe anxiety can be overcome by the way we always accompany that person and always provide support to those who experience anxiety

Oh, dear your poor little 6 year old son. My disabled son felt anxiety with his Year 6 exams. He was scared he would go to our nearest secondary school. They failed to get ready for him and his wheelchair. I went to an appeal to the my local town hall. The better school 23 minutes walk away for approved for medical reasons. So my disabled son feels very much better. His father often suffers from depression. Good luck. I recommend talking in a simple and calm way when your son is stressed.

Through my experience is that, anxiety attack you when something you like the most is not in your presence and is far, far away from you. I think anything which is extreme to bear causes anxiety. Please try to be observing your son closely so that you may get some hints. Anyway God bless him and bless him help. Amen

He ha more mood swing then he does anxiety but for him anxiety is daily. He is like a lurker puppy will chew anything to help relieve anxiety and stress. I don’t think he even knows what his triggers are. We see his anxiety go up if he thinks he is going to be hurt, if blood of his own will involved. His last attaked had to do with a lose tooth and that he didn’t want to lose it and tha it’ll just and their will be blood. He just doesn’t do well with it. It’s not the first time he’a Lost a tooth. My goodnesss you would think he is dying.

For me, diet changes help. I've researched some and found that sugar and caffeine are two of the biggest triggers for anxiety. When I have an anxiety attack I take a dose of Valerian tincture and smell my small bag of lavender. And then I get off the sugar for awhile to prevent more attacks. Because once I've had one, I tend to have more... While not everyone is the same in anxiety triggers, it might help (with the possible bipolar disorder, as well) to get off sugar and wheat. There were some older studies showing that people with schizophrenia started to improve mentally when wheat was removed from their diet. I know those two issues (biploar and schizophrenia) are vastly different, but since wheat affects the brain, mental disorders could potentially be "fixed" by reducing inflammation causing foods, namely wheat. https://drwillcole.com/what-gluten-can-do-to-your-brain-hint-it-isnt-pretty/
Non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) is a syndrome diagnosed in patients with symptoms that respond to removal of gluten from the diet, after celiac disease and wheat allergy have been excluded. NCGS has been related to neuro-psychiatric disorders, such ..

We are 90% gluten free because of his little brother has a gluten allergy. His and anxiety got worse with no gluten. He doesn’t eat sugary things that often. All of my kids don’t get much of those sugary treats. Mostly they eat a lot of fruits and veggies.

@ShyBear88 Hmmm. That's rough, then. I'm sorry. My bag of ammo against anxiety is empty.
