Here's another great patriotic song, that pulls at the heartstrings. Of course, most country music does exactly that in one way or another. This is by John Michael Montgomery and I've been listening to this song for years. Ever since I first heard it basically. This song is written in the perspective of a letter from a mom to a son. It also has parts from the son to the mother, and at the end it talks from the father's perspective. How he hasn't written his son a letter because he can't find the right words to say.
