He was the the world famous "godfather " of Marvel comics.He envisioned comic heroes who were like the rest of us.His given name was Stanley Liebowitz,and was the son of Romanian Jews.He wanted to use his given name in case he wanted to write a novel, I think.

At a comic book store in Milpitas there is a Christmas painting of him on the window as their seasonal decoration.I do not know if it is still there.
