Every Dog Happens for a Reason

Have you ever had a dog once in your life? A dog which you really treat as your bestfriend and a family? Well, I had one, once. His name is Bailey. Yes, I named him from the movie, A Dog's purpose. He is a Japanese Spitz I got from my friend. I was not a animal lover before, more or less a dog lover. However, he was the very first dog I had ever adopted in my life. That's why my experience with him is quite memorable. On the very first weeks, it was quite hard for me because I stayed in a dormitory since I am still in college. My sister and I take turns in taking care and feeding Bailey. Since Bailey wasn't toliet trained, I had difficulties in training him. I read every single article I could find in the net, training manuals and all but still to no avail. Bailey is still Bailey. Naughty, playful but one thing is unique of him, he is not a barker, not at all. I am amused with this and this has been one of the hundred reasons why I love that dog. Bailey was just a puppy back then so,we decided to take him in our province. I know he likes in there because he's able to roam and chase chickens. Bailey was raised there for 5 months until he got an illness. My sister and I were from school that time, it was such a busy week. My mom called us (everytime to check on us and to tell something about Bailey's day) she told me that Bailey was not eating. I ignored it for he sometimes doesn't eat that much especially when he had already eaten his snacks. But that was the thing which I had regreted the most. Friday, we decided to go home. As we were entering our house I saw Bailey lying helplessly on the cold floor, I know he's weak but after seeing us, he took all his strength to get up and approach us. Wagging his tail like nothing's wrong. I thought he'll get well the next day. But I was wrong. That morning, we decided to take him to the vet. My sister and I were worried that time, we didn't even eaten our breakfast. Dad drove us to the nearest vet which the whole ride took us for about 30 minutes. As we were in the car, my sister and I took turns in holding Bailey. He was so weak and his eyes almost look life less. We filled the whole ride with stories of our adventures and memories together with our dog. I never thought that dogs were that important, but once you had one, it all makes sense. I never thought that I will be tamed by that dog named Bailey. That dog which I usually take for walks but ended having a tug of war, that dog which I usually play fetch with but ended up keeping the ball all by himself. How I miss Bailey. I may never see him again but I am still thankful for I was awaken by a realization, every dog happens for a reason, either to teach us how to love or be loved by one. What was your memorable experience with your dog?

Such a wonderful moments with your dog. I could probably tell you love that dog by the way you tell the story. Sorry for the loss. I had a tragic experience with dogs that's why I don't have that much of memorable experience. But i'm trying to be an animal advocate from now on.

Hey @a_jerobon, you should try to have one. Playing with my dog is my kind of stress-reliever. It's a good thing if you have one.

@Mermaidoutofsea We had animals when I was growing up but my mother said she was allergic so did not know much about them. When I got married my ex was a mailman and someone on his route asked if he wanted a puppy. His dog just had babies and he called to ask me and I said yes. This was my first real pet. I loved her so much. She was my family along with my cat that came along and she was my best friend. I loved to take her places. She was so special. I am so so sorry about Bailey.
