In my country we celebrate Christmas beginning with a Dawn Mass on the 16th of December, we call it Misa de Gallo meaning Rooster's Mass. It comes in different names such as SImbang Gabi ( Night Mass) or Aguinaldo Mass. It ends on December 24 at dawn and then the Midnight Mass on the eve of Christmas Day. After the mass, it is a tradition for the family to eat together a very festive meal the best that could have this is the Noche Buena. On Christmas day children would don their best get up and go to the houses of godparents, friends and relatives to greet them and actually get their Christmas gifts. Do you have the same kind of celebration in your country?

In my family we place the gifts under the Christmas tree the 24 and have a family dinner on Christmas Eve with the opening of presents. Some people who are religious go to the Misa de Gallo. There are Villancicos sung at many places (christmas carols)
