Exploring further possibilities of small towns in the U.S. we come to the state of Colorado and the town of Telluride. This was once a silver mining town. The highlight here is the lovely Bridal Veil waterfall. All around there are mountains offering skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. You can see the lovely scenery here in the movie “The Hateful Eight” filmed in this town by Quentin Tarantino.
Telluride has become one of the best festival sites in the U.S and two well-known festivals held here are the Bluegrass Festival and the Telluride Film Festival. Even though it is a small town it has great places for dining and enjoying a drink. Visitors can stay at the historic New Sheridan Hotel, enjoy themselves at the Last Dollar Saloon and eating in style at the 221 South Oak.
The town sits in the Rocky Mountains and is not only a ski resort town but also a golf resort town. It has two known landmarks the Sheridan Opera House dating from 1913 and the Telluride Historical Museum which is housed in a converted hospital dating from 1896 and where you can find out all about local history.
Has anyone heard about this town before?
