A different sort of Thanksgiving...

Well, I was without Mom for the first time last Thanksgiving, and this was the second one without her.
My brother invited me over, which was different again because he is no longer with his wife. He did have my three nephews, though.
So, we all went out to the movies to see "Wreck It Ralph: Ralph Breaks the Internet" -- then back to my brother's apartment, where we had McDonald's for dinner, and then my nephews worked on some gingerbread houses that my brother's girlfriend got for them. That was a messy challenge (my oldest nephew's fell apart, so he decided to make a gingerbread tent instead
).
Then later my brother's girlfriend came over and brought a pumpkin pie and some little pumpkin breads, and we visited a while and then my brother said he'd take me home.
So, it was certainly different, but not bad. I'm glad I got to be with family.

I am happy for you. At least you get to spend you Thanksgiving with your brother and his nephews.
How nice of your brother's girlfriend to buy pumpkin pie and breads! She must be loved so much by your nephews and your brother and I bet , you too.
