Go Fund Me Playing Millionaire For a Day.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking when I see a Go Fund Me for a big wedding costing thousands of pounds. What happened to managing expectations and having the wedding you can actually afford yourselves rather than some ridiculous display and demanding "guests" pay for it? It all seems rather grubby to me. I've attended all kinds of weddings, from simple sneak to the registra's office at lunch time to hire an entire country hotel for the weekend. Often the latter ends in divorce in a few years but that must be just a coincidence and nothing to do with the attitudes of those involved.

they do not need a big wedding. This is what they want. Most of them are short of cash. Just get married.A few people go on your honeymoon and enjoy life. Why put them in a hole.

And in my country, people make more and more expensive weddings. In my opinion, this is a big nonsense. I believe that these people do more to prove themselves to others.

My husband and I had 8 people at our wedding in a small church. We didn't need anything fancy and couldn't afford anything big-we have our love! :)

@karenanne The licence costs a measly £70 and that's really all that is required. Any money spent beyond that is a choice. If you can't afford to marry in the style of a celebrity (and who in their right mind would want to?) then don't. I think the money should be spent on the marriage which hopefully last for a very long time rather than on the wedding which will be over in the blink of an eye. Okay, so I'm a slow blinker, but you get my drift..
