Yesterday, we celebrated, just a bit early, Frank Sinatra's birthday and today, it's time to do it all over again for another music legend, Jimi Hendrix.
And, as you can see from the quote above, he was also a pretty decent comedian. Unfortunately for his comedy career, his skill with the guitar has made everyone forget his comedic talents. For that reason, he'll probably never get into the Comedy Hall Of Fame.
But he did manage to get into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The UK Music Hall of Fame and The R&B Hall of Fame. Not bad for a kid from Seattle who only lived 27 years.
Imagine what he could have done if given another 40 or 50 years. What he did produce in those few short years was pretty impressive, though.
Of course, we are marking today with a bit of music but unlike what we did yesterday, we are having Jimi play one of the songs you have heard a million times...My critics say I'm predictable and I can't resist the urge to prove them wrong again.
I believe I've done enough talking tonight. It's time to let Jimi's music speak for itself.

You should check out some of his work. You might like it. Have you ever heard The Star Spangled Banner played on an electric guitar?

I didn't know he was only 27. He looked so much older.

@FayeHazel Yep. Like the song says, if there's a Rock And Roll Heaven, you know They Have A Hell Of A Band.
I should have warned you because that's the kind of thing that everyone asks and it's what I'm not allowed to tell you. But I can tell you anything else. As long as it's not on the restricted list.

@xander6464 Oh yes, quite concerning , that 27 club. I think James Morrison was one of those, too. (?) I heard or read somewhere it is something to do with the body's metabolism changing around the age of 27.
Oh wow. I didn't know Zep did it, too. Just Robert's version because it was on a double disc set of his I got
