The Girlfinder came out fairly early this morning, and rightly so. We are already at #12: "All I Need" by Air.
Air is a French electronica duo consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunkel. But they are men, and we aren't here to talk about them. We are here to talk about Beth Hirsch.
Beth Hirsch is a vocalist hailing from Tampa, Florida. In the 1990's, Hirsch was living in Paris, where she recorded an EP, Miner's Son, which her neighbors, Godin and Benoit, heard. The duo recruited Hirsch to sing two songs on their 1998 debut album, Moon Safari. While both tracks are excellent, it was "All I Need" (for which she wrote the lyrics) that got Beth Hirsch noticed.
The song is, frankly, gorgeous, carried by Hirsch's often angelic vocals. The single was a minor hit, reaching #29 in the UK, #23 in the Netherlands, and #83 in Australia. But it's soooo good that it's listed in the 2010 book, 1001 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die, as one of "10,000 songs to "Download and listen to before you die."
But you don't have to download it. All you have to do is click on the link below. Only 9,999 to go!

You got me here. There is a smooth jazz quality here at least to my ears and I know you love jazz.
