When it came to 1974 I had quite a few favorites when it came to the song this year. I chose to post “The Night Chicago Died” by Paper Lace because I simply loved the music and the beat to this song. The song rose to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It was about a fictitious shootout between the Chicago Police and members of the Al Capone Syndicate. This song was also featured in a Season 1 episode of “That 70s Show”. Some other prominent songs that year were Neil Diamond “Longfellow Serenade”, “Rock and Roll Heaven” The Righteous Brothers, You’re My First, My Last, My Everything” Barry White, “The Air that I Breathe” The Hollies, and “Annie’s Song” John Denver. Do you remember this song? Any others of your favorites here?

This song makes the “worst” lists in many places, but I like this song. I think the songs I posted for 1974 were “Band on the Run” and “There Won’t Be Anymore.”
