A tree outside my bedroom window has shed most of its leaves as you'd expect to see happen in Autumn, or even Winter as it is now, but one leaf alone is stubborn;y holding on. The leaf is brown, and barely held by a thread, but despite gales and rain, it perseveres. It looks quite lonely. I feel sorry for it and keep telling myself, surely not much longer, but he seems determined to defeat the inevitable odds. Brave little leaf. It's the opposite to the creepy but funny Monty Python Meaning Of Life cartoon where the leaves commit mass suicide. Arthur Chappell
