It is just a part of the Filipino Tradition. We call that here as "Bayanihan" in which people are willing to help without expecting anything in return. We also have other values that people in other nations do not have. So, I can say that, as being a Filipino, we are just proud of our own identity.

some people dont recognize the value of our tradition.maybe because they are coming from a rich country, and never ask favor to anyone, instead, they pay money for the kindness.

It refers to the spirit of communal unity, work and cooperation towards a particular goal.

The tradition here is the act of helping the owner of the hut with moving it. Unlike in most cultures, a Filipino will help anyone who asks without anything in return.
And sometimes, they would also help out even if you don't ask.

Kabayan! Did you take that photo?
(For all who don't know Filipino, "Kabayan" means "Fellow-man of my country" and is used as a greeting by Filipinos to other Filipinos when they are outside of the country.)

In February this year I had the delight of visiting the Philippines. We flew from Kuala Lumpur to Cebu Island. There we stayed for one night before taking a ferry over to Bohol Island. Some My Lotters in the past wrote about Bohol Island and made me really wish to visit it. We took a day tour with a taxi driver to see the tarsiers, the Chocolate Hills and the butterflies. The Philippines, with all its different islands, is a special country. You are lucky to come from the Philippines with its rich heritage.
