Do your kids still believe in Santa?

For those reading this, how old are your kids and do they still believe in Santa?? For me, I stopped believing probably when I was 12. Around the same time that my mom left us for some guy she barely knew and moved to another state with him. Times were tough for me, my sister and my dad but he always made sure we had gifts under the tree. The year I was 12, I remembering opening a gift from "santa" and it was something I saw my dad buying when I was with him. That's when he told me that there really wasn't a santa and he didn't really leave kids presents. He told me that parents who tell their kids about santa do so in order to preserve their innocence and keep them from growing up too fast. For me on the other hand, as soon as my mom left, I became the "mother hen" of the house and had to grow up fast so I could help my dad. So, my question is this? How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa? Why did you stop believing? How old is too old to still believe in Santa?? My 17 year old still believes and she even writes him a letter, leaves cookies, the whole nine yards. In her letter, she wrote that she hopes everyone is happy and healthy and did not ask for anything because as long as her family was happy and healthy and together for christmas, that is all she really wanted. :)

I'm not going to be the one to tell her unless she actually asks me. I like that she still believes in Santa but I do know that if she were to tell anyone at school, that she would be picked on.

I think I was like 12 when I stopped believing in Santa. I just remember not writing him a letter and still getting a present from him anyway. That's when I kind of realized it was probably my parents just getting me a present. My kids still believe in Santa. They are also still at the age when a lot of kids do. They're 7, 5, and 3.

I do alot for other people, especially during Christmas. I'll buy people presents and drop them off on their doorstep if I know they're having a hard time giving their kids a good christmas. As far as Santa goes, I know that at 17 my daughter may be a little old to still believe but that's not something I want to take from her so I've been kinda morphing it into doing good for others. I may have "Santa" write her a letter making her an elf and ask her for help if we find out there's a few families that are struggling next year.
