Hooray Wednesday! Hooray Beer! Oh, that darn Red Stripe commercial. (Quick aside for music trivia buffs: Linda McCartney actually recorded a song under the pseudonym "Suzy and the Red Stripes," named after Red Stripe Beer.) Now that you have Linda's voice in your head, let me clear it up with a great song from Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bob Seger. Here's today's song. #6: The Fire Down Below And if this is only #6, you know the top five is gonna smoke!! (No, not Smokin' O.P.s, that album isn't represented in the countdown. ) True story: I was in the restaurant Sunday, and right after I finished typing the Bob Seger song of the day this came on the piped-in music. Wow, what a killer song this is. Listing dang near everyone in town (much like yesterday's song, "The Horizontal Bop," did), this song looks at the notion that everyone is playing the cheating game ("somewhere there's somebody ain't treating somebody right"), an old, old story ("it went on yesterday, and it's going on tonight"). So, from "the rich man" to "the poor man" to "the banker, the lawyer, and the cop," they're out, either being the perpetrator or the victim in the cheating game. As the song says, "One's thing for certain: it ain't never gonna stop." The Fire Down Below Written by Bob Seger From Night Moves, 1976 The street lights flicker:

Red Stripe always seems to taste best at reggae concerts!
