As Beavis and Butt-Head would put it: YES!!!! I am counting down my favorite bands with Colorado ties, and these guys are one of the greatest! We are at #7: Jag Panzer. In 1981, I had lived in Colorado Springs for about a year, when a group of guys, like me in their late teens, formed a heavy metal band called Tyrant. Since there was already a California band using that name, the Colorado Springs teens saw a poster of a German WWII tank called a Jagdpanzer. Unable to pronounce it, the guys dropped the "d," and went with Jag Panzer. And despite a couple hiatuses, they are still at it. Jag Panzer is far from being just a local band. In fact, I'm finding it difficult to think of another Colorado Springs band that has achieved their level of success. Over the years, the group has carved out quite a following in the world of heavy metal, especially in metal-mad Europe and Japan. Jag Panzer has released 10 studio albums, and multiple demo's, EP's, compilations, and singles (including a neat cover of "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.") And former guitarist Chris Broderick moved on to spend some time in Megadeth, a band not exactly known for hiring slouches. Yeah, these guys are pretty damn good. YES!!!! (Info verified by Wikipedia)
