21 year old Darden Schurg who is a college wrestler is being nicknamed "Aquaman" after he dove into a lake in Hobart Indiana on Christmas Eve when a cat walked on the frozen lake and fell into the lake. Darden credits his father for teaching him to love nature and animals for making the decision to jump into a frozen lake to go across the lake which is about 50 yards to save the cat who was struggling to get out of the frozen lake safe and sound. Despite hissing at Darden when he was able to rescue the cat, Darden took the hissing from the cat as his way of telling Darden "Thank you for rescuing me." The cat was able to leave the area safe and sound thanks to the actions of Darden to risk his life to save a strange cat in the area.

I know what yo mean since cats should be smart enough to stay away from frozen bodies of water.
