Try to be open heart and discuss with the person the problem of the event. I believe the person is important in part of your life. That is why you care about the person feeling. I know that some person is not easily to deal with due to their attitude. Find a nice time and discuss with the person. If there is places that you did wrongly, apologies first, then they may admit their problem too. Good luck.
