Cinnamon is a spice which is widely used in Indian cuisine, especially in curries and biryani. It is an intergral part of garam masala, an aromatic mixture of spices used for flavouring Indian curries, especially meat curries. Now, recent research has shown that consumption of cinnamon may help in controlling blood sugar in those suffering from type II diabetes. Besides, it is also known to normalize cholesterol levels in our blood. Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of medicine also endorses its health benefits and calls it a medicinal spice.

@Icydoll I am not sure whether the effect is due to fibre content or not.
