Can you suggest any home remedies for dark under eye circles?

Of late I have been observing that I am developing dark under eye circles. I know it is a part and parcel of aging process and is inevitable. But is there any home remedy which may help in lightening them, I tried using used green tea bags, but they haven't been of much use. Now, I am thinking of placing cucumber slices on my closed eyes just before going to bed. Any other suggestions?
