Medical profession is supposed to be a noble profession, isn't it?

Medical profession was known as noble profession, but it is no longer so. Now medical profession has become like any other profession where it all about earning more and more wealth. Doctors in private hospitals are given targets to achieve. The rapidly increasing number of corporate hospitals, the nexus between big pharma and doctors has made medical treatment very expensive and unaffordable for the common man. What are your thoughts?
