This could have been great if half of the story wasn't straight out of soap operas like Eastenders. The final struggle would have been more poignant and emotional if it had been one of the actual companions in danger of being dragged into the nova, especially Graham..
We get long lost dad comes back, makes peace with son, makes a weapon even the Doctor never thought of and son leaves him right away to go round the universe rather than taking time out to re-bond with him.
The actual Dalek stuff was great, its pared down Scrapyard Challenge shell was great, and its fight with the army and an actual tank was terrific. I quite liked the idea of UNIT being disbanded by cutbacks and the Doctor finding out about it through a call centre.
Just exactly what were three (or at least two surviving) guardians supposed to do if the Dalek bits they protected moved? Their ancestors beat it as any army. Why did the third of a Dalek not try to relocate its own other parts?
Why did no one remember the siege of Canary Wharf? It put Daleks all round the planet.

@Courage7 Eastenders is a UK soap opera series, and this episode of Dr Who was bogged down by lots of soap opera sub-plot elements that had nothing to do with the main Dalek story

Have you ever been to the Dalek museum in London? I assume it still exists. Those early Daleks were made of cardboard and egg boxes etc. Quite fun really and I remember really hiding behind the sofa as they seemed so very scary and thinkiing Dr Who landed as there was a real genuine police box as per Dr Who near where I lived.
