........ when I was a kid we usually went to two different grocery stores. The just down the street was a Safeway.
Then when we couldn't find something that we wanted or an item we wanted was advertised on sale we would go to the A&P Grocery store.
I remember how I could always smell the coffee and yes I'm there
Now I know why cause the A&P stood for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company. Plus I found out it was the first chain store!

I used to love going to A&P stores. When I was growing up some of them still had the old wooden floors and it was fun walking around there.

Oh, do I remember the old A&P. They'd have coffee grinders at the checkout, so when you bought a bag of coffee they'd grind it for you as you checked out. It made walking into the store smell so dreamy!
