not always RIGHT!

After attending the Holy sacrifice of the mass at 9:30 AM, my son told me and my sister that we go to the jolly bee and he will treat us our lunch, which is take-out. There is a priority lane for the senior citizens, persons with disability, and pregnant women. My sister stood at the end of the queue, while I and my son stood at the side. Then an elder woman came straight to the cashier and demanded that her order be taken. The other senior citizens told her that ‘the end of the line is behind my sister’, but this proud SC (senior citizen) just said they should be given priority, and did not leave where she stood. My sister who I know does not take it sitting down, told this SC that ‘there is a line’ and further said ‘we should be good examples to the young by following the rules’. The SC just smirked but walked behind my sister. Indeed, some SC’s are not always right. My sister really does not like those SC’s feeling they are so privileged that they don’t follow instructions.

They are Senior Citizen indeed, some people just think they can take advantage of the situation.

yes, she always has that attitude to speak up her mind. i also think she feels elated when she is not thought of as a senior citizen because she is not tall and she dresses like a young adult that often times, (for example) the security guard asks if she is a SC and he remarks she does not look like one.

Oh no that would not do over here a load of people would take advantage right away and lot of arguments would surely follow. They always push in anyway with or without rules.

@ridingbet More the ones about twenty and upwards do that a lot of them not all of them though but a good handful are like that and so anyone who tries to push in if they are around they might well get clobbered.

There are some SC's who always feel special and acts like a child. That is why I never let my parents take the order even if they can order food faster.

@ridingbet Yeah, I told them that my parent is sitting on a chair and asked me to place an order for her and I bring the card with me.

@tech40 the receipts should be signed by the SC, so you brought the receipt to be signed by your mother, in your table, i assume. for us, my sister just shows her card, but last Sunday, i whispered to her to step aside because she was waiting for the order, so the next SC should give her order to the cashier now.

yes that is true. although SC's are given priority, some are so proud and demanding to walk ahead of those in line, but if you do not allow your parents order food, do you get their SC identification cards?

i'm glad your sister spoke up and, more importantly, that the cashier didn't entertain her, either. because even in the priority lane, it should be first-come, first-served. she's not the only senior there!

my sister dislikes seeing SC acting so rude to others who are lining up for some services, like even in groceries and stores. i admire her for that, but sometimes too, even if the situation is already done, she still keeps on mumbling about the privileges of a SC.

@ridingbet the cashier, teller, guards etc also have to be consistent in enforcing first-come,first served.

There are a lot of older people who behave worse than young people and it's very sad.

indeed. the rich SC's do have the attitude of being proud and want others to ''bow down''.
