Dealing with bad grades

I just saw my little niece result of last term and became furious. She failed so badly and the mum is just helpless since she said she has been trying but the little girl is still not doing well. I was thinking of the child being moved to a lower class but the mum didn't seem to buy the idea. How can we deal with bad grades?

Don't give so much importance to them because they will not define your potential.
