Marrying for the papers abroad

Marrying for papers, is there any consequences associated with this especially if one is still married in her home town but wants to marry a us based guy to have a stay A Friend wants to tow this line. Will this work for or against her?

Your question is rather vague. Does the guy in question know he is being used or does he actually love her?
Morals aside, I don't think it would work as well as he is hoping. I am actually not familiar with US laws on getting a green card, but I imagine there is a burden of proof and a period of time that they'd have to have been dating.

@Berrygal Well to be honest, I am hoping that it doesn't work for her. I understand wanting to come over here, and I understand it can be hard, but it is not right to play with a person's heart.
