Love me harder: Why do many people beg for love?

I always wonder about it when I see some movie, read some book or listen to some music about someone suffering and begging for love.
Love moves with us (and those who have already fallen in love knows this) and "transform" us in some way (and this is not always a good thing).
However, I think that everything becomes a big problem when you lose self-love (which is the most important love of all).
Am I being a bit harsh on this?

I think love must be reciprocated, no one should beg for love, if that is the case I think the other party doesn't feel the same thing about you.

Nope I agree with you. Most people sometimes change themselves to become what the other want because of love. I don't like that. I like the quote "Just be yourself." Simple but hard to do.

@Jeanne_KaSaHa It's a very simple quote, but at the same time... Extremely powerful!

@WiseGhots I know it was a common phrase. But I still fall in love with that quote. Because I think not many people can do that. Most people use fake smile or faking good when in public. Not many will show their true face. And I don't like fake people. My principle is "when you have something to say to me. Say it in front of my face. Don't back stabbed me."
