Dinner fail, Momma win.

I made dinner for me and kiddo last night. Roasted garlic herb potatoes and carrots; (This is a favorite of ours and we often have it for a snack) and I tried a new chicken...ginger lemon. Now, I've made ginger lemon chicken PLENTY of times. But not this recipe. Finished dinner, sat down to eat. Oh goodness was it DISGUSTING!! The potatoes were beyond soggy, like I don't know how that happened. The carrots were still way too crunchy. The garlic tasted rancid. Then the chicken...it tasted raw (it wasn't) and had this aftertaste that I'm tasting again just talking about it. SO gross I can't describe it but it just wouldn't stop and was horrible! So dinner failed....but I scooped up kiddo's plate and said "so, cereal for dinner!" Happy kid! She was so sweet too, she said "Its okay, you tried!"

It happens sometimes. Sounds like she was just as happy to have cereal.

She was I'm going to stop at the store tonight for more potatoes and carrots though. I'm still craving them and I used them up last night. Besides...I need cocoa to make brownies!

Wow, I wonder what went wrong? Sometimes a new recipe that seems similar to what we've made in the past can have extremely different results.

@spiderdust Thank you! I plan on whipping up some ramen noodles for myself since hubby and kiddo are eating dinner right now while I'm still at work. If I fail then I'm skipping straight to ice cream!

I use my crock pot a lot especially for chicken. This happens to all of us.

@fivecandles Yes I have shared many. I like to use chicken thighs. They have a better taste to me. But I start with the chicken, salt, pepper, cube an onion on top of the chicken, cream of mushroom soup. Let that cook on low 4 hours. Then add vegetables. Any kind whatever you like. Let it cook 2 hours on high.
