My daughter is a sore loser.

When it comes to competitions, my elder daughter is totally competitive.
She always emerge a winner in parlor games, Comicon trivia questions, Harry Potter mall quizzes, etcetera. Give her instructions on how to play, she will study it a while and win. She said she wants to win because she is a sore loser.
Till two nights ago, a gentleman her age asked her to play chess in a cafe. She said she has not played chess since she was a child. The rather handsome gentleman said that he would go easy on her. Okay, she said. He added that they could race to three.
To the gentleman's bewilderment, my daughter whispered Checkmate. 1 - 0
The second game was a draw, but just because my daughter knew it would be a stalemate, so she allowed him to way out.
The third game, sigh, my daughter gave the game to him, so he would feel better.
Here's a mother hoping and praying someone could be at par with my daughter.

My daughter has earned the respect of many urban planners and journalists both locally and internationally. She has accomplished things I never imagined she would have done.
A mother's hope is that she gives her self a little time to think about a relationship and feel love.

That was a very kind thing of your daughter to do.
Many people only think of themselves but it sounds like she was able to set her feelings aside and think of how he was feeling. It sounds like she has a heart of gold!

Yup, my daughter could do that, let others believe they've won, so they could feel better. But I think she has a crush on him, too. Gosh, my daughter is one of the guys and she could go toe to toe with anyone. But this guy is different. He is a gentle man. I think my daughter was taken aback.
