The Oscar nominations are out and noticeable on just how many have am anti Trump theme to them . Roma, a story about director Alfonso Cuarón life growing up in Mexico on the other side of the wall, leads the way with 10 nominations, matching British Royal period costume farce The Favorite, also ten. BlacKKKlansman , about a black dude who goes undercover in the KKK ( some say Trump a member of ) gets a Best Picture nod and also black actor Oscar action for the Green Book, Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortenson up for best acting role.
Vice, a portrayal of Republican warmonger Dick Cheny, gets 8 nominations , Christian Bale the surprise actor who is cast as Cheney. Glen Close gets her seventh nomination for 'The Wife', whilst Lady Ga Ga and Bradley Cooper are up for the 'A star is Born remake. Rami Malek is up for Best Actor in the Queen rock band biopic of Fredy Mercury.
Politically correct nominations see Black Panther get an absurd seven nominations for what is a perfunctory superhero film but with black actors in it. Hollywood is being intimidated into choosing their winners.
Oscar nominations for the 91st annual Academy Awards will be announced Tuesday morning from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Calif. Academy president John Bailey will be joined by “The Big Short” actor Kumail Nanjiani and “Black-ish” star Trace

@amadeo I predict Olivia Colman will win for The Favourite though I prefer Close in recognition of her entire career.

There's little diversity if you think about it. 7 of the 8 movies deal with social issues on one level or another. Only A Star is Born is free from any social agenda.

It's hard to believe I haven't watched any of the movies previously mentioned. Where have I been? However If I were to pick a movie to watch tonight, I would choose The Favourite. I have heard some good reviews about it, and I wanna see Emma Stone pretending to speak with the English accent. I do need to see that! Fine post! :)
