A lie is always a lie?

Lie is one of the attitudes of human beings that I hate most and that makes me doubt if we are even more hopeful than the animals that walk of 4 or 2 legs.
However, some people say that the white lie (the one that usually does no harm ... or is simply omitted) is a good / acceptable thing.
What do you think?
For me, a white lie without bad intentions is valid.

A white lie can be a good thing sometimes. And always the best answer if your wife asks if her butt looks big
