Why do we die? What happens at death? What is the hope for our dead loved ones? Who has not wondered about these questions? Is death a puzzle that can be solved? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why do we die? Death is genetic. We inherited it from our first parents. Adam and Eve, our first parents, disobeyed God and lost the privilege of living forever and they passed death on to their offspring. What happens at death? Death is the opposite of life. There is no more life when someone dies. The dead cease to exist except in one's memory but not only in our memory but in God's memory. What is the hope for our dead loved ones? The hope of the resurrection is the hope for the dead. I counted the word resurrection and it is found in the Bible some 40 times and there are about 9 examples of people being brought back to life. Resurrection is God's way of conquering death. God has the power to raise the dead back to life, either in heaven or on earth. What do you think? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acts 24:15 (King James Version) "And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust."

We die because Adam and Eve sinned? Adam and Eve belong to the Christian religion. Why do Hindus, Muslims (to name only two religions) and heathens die, too?

Good question! Adam and Eve are the first man and woman and all humankind comes from them. They were simply the first man and woman. All religions and non-religions came into existence after Adam and Eve had children. They are the great-grandparents of all humans.

@MALUSE In Hinduism also, we have the exact same story.. Just that the names are not Adam and Eve.. and the fruit was some special fruit and not apple..

@Sheali The meaning of the word "adam" is "earthing man, mankind, humankind." The meaning of the word "Eve" is "living one."

@LeaPea2417 Yes there are verses that have been mistranslated and misunderstood. Look at Psalm 9:17 and the various ways the verse is translated.

We die because our earth body gives up from wear and disease. The we go meet God. If he sees fit he (God) will send our soul back down into a new body, with a new family.

Thank you! Do you think Adam and Eve would have worn out if they hadn't sinned?

Yes, that's what I also believe. We are all one family made up of brothers and sisters. We are allowed to have different views.

Those who have left us live on in the thoughts and memories of those who are still here. There are certain people I've lost who live on in me. And I have already passed their ideas, and their love, on to the next generation.

We can never be sure but our beliefs are a guide. Personally, I have an inner knowing life continues in another form. When this door closes, another opens. Occasionally, some who are gone seem to convey messages or even guide me. A good and fulfilling life here should serve us well whatever happens in the future - siva

@Moon24 We need to look for and find the truth and put our faith in the truth. Notice these wonderful words of Jesus. John 18:37 King James Version 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
