Hi folks, I have been pursuing my life long goal of earning an accredited degree (BS, BSc) in Computers or Information Systems(IS)/Information Technology (IT) through a reputable online/distance Education University. During my research I have come across many programs but there are a few which are accredited and recognised and those which one should invest their time and money. There are also many programs claiming to be colleges/universities but are not recognised (some are totally scams) and you would end up wasting time and money with them and the possiblity of embarrassment when presenting that degree for a job or higher education. So be careful with those. These are the Universitities/colleges that offer programs in IT and business. Some are very pricy and others are reasonable. 1) University of Liverpool - UK (MBA,IT) 2) University of Southern Quensland - Australia 3) Athabasca University - Canada 4) University of British Columbia - Canada 5) University of Phoenix - USA 6) Thomas Edison College - USA 7) AIU Online - USA 8) Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh - UK (MBA programs) Give us your thoughts on what degree program you are pursuing, its value in the market, the University you prefer and your overall experience with the online education world.

I am getting my A.S. in business managment through Ashworth College (www.ashworthcollege.com). They are nationally accreditted and I have never had a problem with them. By taking online course, I am saving myself $2500!

sounds good. Is National accreditation just as good as accreditation by higher commissions on education. What is the quality of the courses like and instructor support.
