Thursday early morning my husband finally had his wrist surgery after months of waiting to be able to do so. The doctor was sure months ago br since this happened at work he had to do all the worker comp doctor visit and name rule out other ways to fix his wrist pain. So the doctor went in, and there was more damage then we thought. He has not one by two torn tendons that need fixing so they did then a tendon released (that’s where the pull the tendon tight so it can work again properly). Debrivment that’s where the shave the bone down and make it smooth an then removed a bunch of fluid.
Now my poor husband is in a lot of pain they is to be expected with a surgery that had a lot of work down. It took them roughly an hour to do. We are on day 2 and he hurts a lot he started to cry because of the pain. I think it’s mostly playing on his emotions because he can’t have a lot of physical contact especially from our kids. He’ll get a cast this Thursday. I think he’ll feel better by then where he can Actually have some form of physical contact from the rest of us.

I'm so sorry that he's in a lot of pain. I remembered when my son had a ruptured AP surgery. While he was being taken to the OR he asked me if the pain would go away after the surgery. I had to assure him that it will. But after the surgery of course there was still pain from the wound and he was such in a terrible pain that he told me I told him no more pain so why did it still hurt. If I could take the pain away from him, I would. I tried my best to make him feel comfortable. He held my hand all the time.

I have to remind him it’s not always going to hurt like this. It’s day 2 so it’s going to hurt more now then it did on the first day and the same with the second day. All the sleepy medicine to give you surgery is out of your system. So now you have to rest, move around to keep blood clots from happening.
