Day 33 Acts 18:12-16 Acts 18:12 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat, 13 Saying, This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law. 14 And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you: 15 But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters. 16 And he drove them from the judgment seat. How many times do you go to court and the judge throws out the charges before he hears the case? Jews brought Paul to the judgment seat to bring charges against him, but the deputy refused to hear the case and dismissed it before Paul could defend himself. As Christians, you have an Advocate with the Father. When Satan comes against you, a child of God, God looks at you and declares you innocent of any crime because you accepted Jesus, His Son, as your Savior and Lord. You don’t need to say anything in your defense, and Satan withdraws sputtering and fuming because he lost his cause against you. Satan won’t let up his accusations against you, but goes before God day and night. However, the day is coming when he will be cast out of heaven forever. Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (KJV) Until that day arrives, Jesus will stand before God our Father as your Advocate and all charges will be dropped against you. 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (KJV) You have nothing to fear when Jesus is your defense lawyer. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Jesus, Your Son, to be my Savior and Advocate when Satan comes against me. Thank you for seeing me guiltless because of the blood of Your Son, which covers me and declaring me not guilty because of the blood. Remind me that Jesus is always working on my behalf to free me from Satan’s clutches. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 13 February 2019 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay
