Is Protein Powder Useful for Weight Gaining?

I went to my doctor last week for annual body check. Looking at the test result, the doctor told me with a serious look that although I have maintained a stable weight of about 102 pounds, but it might not be too good for my health and suggest me to gain some weight. He recommended me to have some protein powder as regular meals supplement and not to work out so hard, which I did, oops. I know that proteins play a very important role in our cells, which consist of our body. If they don't work well, cells could not function well, and then some parts of our body might go wrong. I searched on the web and find malfunctions of proteins could lead to many horrible diseases. [Learn proteins from this web: A leader of protein supplying might be reliable 'cause their knowledge comes from a lot of lab researches and experiments.] However, I'm just wondering whether protein powder is really useful for weight gaining? And is it connected to our cell proteins?
Cell Biology is a scientific discipline that studies cells – their physiological properties, their structure, the organelles they contain, interactions with their environment, their life cycle, division and death. This is done on molecular level mostly.

Hi mazee. Thanks for the comment. I know what you're talking about. But maybe the only problem for me is that I could not take in too much food at one time. It seems that my stomach would "tells" me: Hey, girl, don't eat too much! I'm already full! Or I'll make you feel uncomfortable. Then I do refuse more food upon this message. You guys have the same feeling?

I've read they're useful for weight gain... But have you tried to increase your food intake? How many times do you eat in a day?

Thanks Dex! You're responding fast! Well, I cannot eat too much at one time because I'll feel uncomfortable if my stomach is too full. Except for three regular meals, I eat some fresh fruit when I remember. I don't take in too much other things since I don't feel the need.
