Day 35
Acts 18:24-28
Acts 18:24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spoke and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
Are you receptive to advancements in knowledge and understanding? Through the years science and medicine have increased at a great rate and breakthroughs are made daily so doctors and scientists can learn and expand their knowledge.
Apollos was a man who knew only half the gospel, having learned from John the Baptist. He didn’t know that Jesus had come and fulfilled scripture. When he learned the full truth of the gospel, he was disposed to teach the full truth and be whatever help he could to spreading the Word of God.
As Christians, you have the opportunity daily to learn more of God’s Word. There are many theologians and books, TV ministries, and people like you who studied so they could share the gospel in greater ways.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
God’s Word is available to everyone who wants to learn more about His love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness. He wants us to know the full truth, not only half of it.
You couldn’t do your work if you didn’t have all the tools. You can’t spread the gospel of Jesus Christ if you don’t have all the tools. However, you can do what you can until you have the opportunity to learn more.
Being a Christian is a learning opportunity. Every time you open God’s Word, you learn something more about God’s grace and forgiveness. Never stop learning.
Let’s pray: Father, teach me Your Word so I might teach others what You taught me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
