Can pistachio shells be used for anything?

Someone gave us a pack of pistachios and I've been throwing away the shells as I eat them. I'm wondering if the shells can be used for anything at all rather than just being thrown away.

the shells can be used for the decoration in the garden. i have seen that working out for me.

@pitstop in pots and you can decorate those with say LED and marbles, they can look cool. check pinterest for ideas.

I do compost once in a while. I thought these shells took a long time composting.

@pitstop yes, they do take a long time to compost... You can also try to use them for mulching

There are many creative YouTube videos ,you can colour those shells and use them to decorate things
