5 Minutes?

I found this in my e-mail in-box and found to be interesting. So, I thought I would discuss. The article is all about jealousy. The article claims that with 5 minutes of meditation, your jealousy can be eliminated, often using a short mantra and/or taking deep breaths. This is quite weird to me, because I have a jealousy problem. All of my friends from younger years are married. I was never invited to one single wedding of theirs. Then, with the advent of Facebook, everybody became my "friend"...photos of them with their husbands and grown kids. My fake friends really did hurt my feelings. As for deep breathing, if I am out in public and get bothered, I take deep breaths. The first thing said is "what is wrong with you?" Then, I have to explain that I needed to take a deep breath. In both situations, my "mantra" would be a prayer to the Virgin Mary that I keep to myself. Do you ever get jealous?

It is a sin to get jealous or envious. I'm just happy for being me, and don't let others bother me. I can't believe your friends didn't invite you to their weddings! I hope you don't consider them friends anymore.

When I was younger, I remember reading in the Bible that jealousy rots the bones. You are right, jealousy is a sin.

I came to the conclusion that jealousy would only hurt me... no one would even know!! As for meditating on it for 5 minutes... that definitely wouldn't work for me if the topic was something that was really bothering me. I have this stubborn streak it seems!! I don't let go of things...

I've never been jealous. I hope your prayer works for you. Those were mean friends.

I am not jealous about a whole lot, but sometimes do.
