Can afternoon sleep compensate for lack of sleep in the night?

I am again having problems sleeping at night, lately. I try to compensate by catching some sleep in the afternoon after my lunch. But, that is leading me into a vicious circle, because if I sleep in the afternoon, it becomes even more difficult to go to sleep in the night. Have you ever faced such a problem?

@Nana49 Yes, it is always healthy to sleep early and wake up early too.
