So Roma did not win last night at The Oscars and Hollywood not quite ready for Netflix to take over just yet, Green Book winning the big one. Alfonso Cuaron did win Best Director for Roma. The film was a Netflix production and they have bought all 32 key billboards in Los Angeles in movie town for $150 million dollars to push their films and TV from now on, In the past twenty years its been all about spending million lobbying to win the Big Oscars. Times are a changing on The Academy voting pool to with a lot more younger and diverse voters and to be more tolerant although not tolerant enough to give booked black host Kevin Hart a break for tweeting something questionable ten years ago. This years wins and nominations reflected diversity, three Oscars for the OK superhero film Black Panther and a black lady winning Best Costume Oscar for the first time. Remi Malek won Best Actor for the popular Queen film and Olivia Williams also won Best Actress for a Queen film, and Mahershala Ali won an Oscar for playing a queen. It was a good year for the Queens. Black actress Regina King won best supporting for Beale Street so just one of the big four acting Oscars to a homey . I think its great those traditional and boring critics favorite films are not going to win The Oscars any more and although the winners deliberately diverse this year we do need more brown eyes winning awards. Here is to a future of popular films actually winning awards as black, gay, young and diverse Academy voters back their own.

The PC correct Oscars where the social level is more important than cinematic level.
