Did you ever lie to your parents? Did your children ever do that?

Some children have the habit of lying. White lies are ok at times but repeatedly lying is not acceptable. This also shows the weak bond between the parents and children, and also lack of communication in some cases. Specially in the teenage when teenagers are closer to their friends, they hide things from parents. In most cases they are caught and punished and in some they are given the right guidance. Did you ever lie to your parents? Did your children ever do that? If yes, how did you deal with it?

My little girl then was three years old, when she told me she had been beaten by her grandfather (my dad) It was out of common sense for me, because I know how much he loves her. And when I asked her where? And how did that happen? She told me - 'With a foot in the head' (yeah, right!!) What actually happened...She watched with her grandfather kickboxing that afternoon on TV (So, that's how she got the 'idea') We all laughed

No, I never lied to my parents, and I never lied to my children. However, my children did lie to me. I'm sure I punished them for lying. Who told you white lies were okay. A lie is a lie. None of it is okay at any time.

What you said is absolutely correct.. I made the post depending on the present situation, where children lie a lot and so I made it like that..

Yes I have lied to my parents. I think as a parent myself that we all lie at one time in our life especially when we are children and don’t understand what a lie is or isn’t. So we all do it even when we don’t mean to. When my kids lie depending on age now it depends on what happens. When they where my youngest age he is now 4 we explain that one lie leads to another lie till your story of lies no longer work together. It’s better to be honest even if you get into trouble you’ll be in less trouble now then you will be later. My oldest two if they lie something of there gets taken away. It’s a privilege to have certain things and then they will do extra school as part of there punishment.

@Sheali I never said anything about white lies. I said we all lie at some point. Especially children when they haven’t learned about lies so when they tell One they don’t knowbyet. White lies are when you know it’s a lie and tell it.

That's the right way to guide here.. Some white lies are ok but it should not become a habit

I doubt that there is one kid in the world that hasn't lied to his parents.

I didn't lie very often.. Not because of good manners or something.. It was just that I never really felt like going against my parents...

Everyone lies, I have done it. We realize this as we grow and still tend to say white lies.

@Sheali I know I told some lies to my parents when I was younger but now I make it known that I do not like to lie. It's extremely rare I tell a fib to anyone.

I think many times I lied to my parents, and I also lied to my children, and I lied to my wife many times, I lied many times. And I think I would still be a great liar if YHVH GOD in Christ Jesus and with the power of His Word and Spirit had not transformed my life. My children have also lied to me, and perhaps I acted hastily in dealing with them because of those lies, and other times I was wise and prudent. The only way we can get rid of lies and stop being liars is to come to Jesus Christ for healing and liberation.
