Good deeds

I read an article today about a pregnant young lady that is working as a waitress up north. Apparently a police officer came into the restaurant and was seated in her area. His meal was less than $10 but he left the young lady a $100 tip. On the receipt he wrote "enjoy your 1st you will never forget it".
According to the article, the young lady was very emotional and appreciative.
I thought back and I've done a good deed or two but nothing like that. What are your good deeds?

It's nice when one has extra money that they can do kind deeds like that.

@Beaser I agree but getting a $100 tip can make someone's day. I remember when I used to help my customers and they gave me a 25 cents tip that it made me feel better. That was in the late sixties.

@1hopefulman - Yes it is. Lets face it, not all of us have that kind of money that we could leave such a large tip. I don't necessarily think it's the amount but the thought that drove the good deed.

@1hopefulman - $.25 was a lot in the late '60s. I think most everyone enjoys being appreciated and receiving a nice tip is just one to do it.
Having had a kid or two I know what some of the expenses are. So to receive a gift like this was nice.

I read that online, and was very touched. Oh, gosh, where do I begin? Besides leaving extra large tips, we've bought breakfast for a vet, raised money for medical research, volunteered our time for women of domestic abuse, served on committees for children with special needs, donated food to food pantries, .....

My family did the same thing for a waitress at Pizza Hut. Her husband was in the hospital from a motorcycle accident. Her manager mentioned that she was leaving to attend to him and she was struggling with gas money to get back and forth every day. My husband and I gave her a $100 tip as well. She came back because she forgot something and the tip put her in tears. We told her God put it on our hearts to bless her in her time of need.

@Beaser We didn't do it for a blessing in return, our family is so blessed by our Father in Heaven. We did it because we are supposed to walk as Jesus did. =)

@LovingMyBabies - That's awesome. I'm sure your kindness will come back to you 100 times over.

i guess you're referring to this news article? yes, what a generous police officer.
The waitress' father said the police officer made his daughter's "year" after leaving the sweet note following lunch at the Lamp Post Diner in Gloucester Township, N.J.

@hereandthere - You are correct. It was a pretty nice "feel good" story.
