Our bird of paradise is showing up

These flowers - bird of paradise - bloom profusely once a year and stay for months The plant gets suckers and that is how they increase in number The first flower this season is showing up and it is quite a sturdy flower as the plant is sturdy. Once the flower fades the plant dies. Soon there will be a riot of orange colour in our garden

@allknowing Falsly? Well I could see how this "lobster claw" could be called bird of paradise - like feathers. But lobster claw would be fitting too!

It is falsely known as bird of paradise. It is actually known as lobster claw. But we are used to that name.

My great grandmother loved to plant flowers all sorts of flowers. I would often enjoy looking at the flowers which were planed in the backyard.
