Addiction! How do you overcome it.

From when I reached the age of puberty ( 9 years I think), I have always been attracted to the opposite sex. I have had lots of girls admiring me as well; but I never had my chance until I got to the college.
My first experience happened in my first semester, and I fell for it; I was lured into sex. I have been doing it ever since then, whenever I feel like. It now looks as if I can't do without sex for a week; it's becoming an addiction.
I really regret venturing into it at the first place; I would have waited to get married before doing it.
I want to stop it now; but it's looking as if it is impossible, I am addicted to having sex.
Please how do you overcome an addiction to sex?

A moment ago I read a post from you that made me understand that you are a religious person, but reading this makes me think that you do not have an intimate relationship with YHVH GOD, His Word contained in the Bible and His Son Jesus. Because if this were so, what you expose here as a terrible insurmountable evil, under the blessing of God and his presence in you can be beaten and defeated until you find the woman who will accompany you for life.

@Kennethchinemerem It is not easy to overcome sins, the appetites of the flesh, but if we are people of God, and if we really want to please God, we must work on it and with the help of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in our life, we can overcome it. .
On your own, I am sure it will cost you too much and it is even impossible to do so, but with the help of God it is possible to overcome any challenge that Satan, the world and the flesh pose to us:
"I am able to do all things through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13)
